To link in with Wild World Heroes, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme, libraries are inviting children aged 7 to 11 to get out and about and send in photos of the natural world.
The photos can be of anything they see in the North Yorkshire countryside, or in their own garden – a close up of a plant, an insect, an animal or a view of water, hills or sky – whatever children want to celebrate about their environment.
The winners will see their pictures turned into limited edition library cards that will be used by library members across the county.
Entries (ideally in jpg format) can be emailed to library.secretaries@northyorks.gov.uk. No more than 3 entries per child. Photos should be in landscape format and no more than 4mb (if sending more than one please be aware that emails with attachments over 10mb may bounce back). Please keep copies of original photos – the winning ones may be needed for creating the library card.
All entries must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 31 August 2021
