1st Scalby Brownies Visit the Library
1st Scalby Brownies had a great time at Newby and Scalby Library on the evening of Tuesday 30th January. Accompanied by their young leader, assistant leaders and Brown Owl, the girls were shown round the library, learning how the books are organised and what sort of resources are available for all the library users. The Brownies took part in a quiz, began work for their book lovers badge and had the chance to borrow books from the library. And of course, plenty of reading went on during the evening! Many thanks to Volunteer Christine Grimmett who organised the evening, along with June Watson and Tricia Whelan.
