Crafty Articles knits Poppies for Hackness
In November 2018, with the support of Lord Derwent, Hackness Village Hall Committee will commemorate the end of the First World War. As part of this project a hand-worked poppy installation will be set up from St Peter’s Church, Hackness, along the road to the Village Hall and Memorial. Members of the library’s Crafty Articles group, who meet at the library every Wednesday from 2.30 – 4pm have been busy knitting poppies, as the photos show. If you would like to join in do come along to help. If you can’t come to the library on a Wednesday you can still help by contributing gifts of wool or money to buy wool. You can make poppies at home, of any size, design and medium, except paper. Contact Yve Boddy for poppy patterns and further information, on 01723 882336.
