Flying Fun with Love Science

We invited Abbie Carr of Love Science back to the library during February Half Term to give our young customers some flying fun!  They made paper helicopters and then launched paper rockets with mechanical launchers.  Much fun was had when they went into the garden to launch their own ‘rockets’ made from old 35mm film canisters, using the chemical reaction made with water and vitamin C tablets.  The children jumped when they saw how high their rockets flew!  The photos show Joseph and Lydia Pickles, Matthew and Thomas Knowles and Maggie Reid among the other youngsters having fun with science.
