Science Mischief at the Library!

Science Mischief took place at the library as one of the Summer Reading Challenge events. The children made colour-changing pictures using special paint. Purple paint turned pink and red paint went bright yellow: perfect for playing tricks on people! Then they used a special purple indicator to make boring white acids and alkalis erupt in a fizzy rainbow and finally they used a hydrophilic polymer to make gorgeous crystals that soaked up water so they could tip it over their heads without spilling any liquid. Thanks to Abbie of Love Science for creating the fun!
