Summer Reading Challenge 2023

The theme for this year’s Challenge is ‘Ready, Set, Read!’ Delivered in partnership with The Reading Agency and national children’s charity the Youth Sport Trust it aims to keep children’s minds and bodies active over the summer break, “empowering young people to forge new connections with others and unleash the power of play, sport and physical activity through reading”. From 15 July to 9 September, children aged 5-11 will be able to join a superstar team and their marvellous mascots as they navigate a fictional summer obstacle course brought to life with illustrations by children’s illustrator Loretta Schauer, rewarded by free incentives including stickers, a bookmark, Frisbee, medal and certificate.
Booking for the events our library has arranged for 0-12 year olds between 26 July and 2 September opens on Saturday 15 July in person and from Monday 17 July by telephoning us on 01609 534-59.
