Summer Reading Challenge, 12 July – 13 September

Nearly 200 children aged 5-11 have signed up for the Summer Reading Challenge at our library and have received a beautiful set of Animal Pairs cards along with a booklet on which to collect stickers.  Many have also read 2 or more books and some have even completed the challenge already, receiving further rewards including a bug ribbon and seed card, spot the bug magnifying glass and identification card and their choice of a new pencil case and items to put it in, including a folding ruler!  There’s also a Treasure Hunt to take part in, with a prize draw on 13 September, and a Photo Competition in which the lucky winners will have their photo on a limited edition library membership card.  Those who email entries to our library will also have them displayed in the library and at an Eco Conference at St Mark’s Church on Saturday 4 October.  Here’s 5 year old Beau, an early member of this year’s Summer Reading Competition, with his Grandma.
